Britain declared uninhabitable

BRITAIN is unsuitable for human life, the UN has declared.

It is rather nippy

As forecasters predict ice, snow, darkness and blade-like freezing winds that can actually slice your face off, the UN declared the country uninhabitable and began evacuation procedures.

A UN spokesman said: “We just want to get as many people out alive as possible, then we’ll figure out distributing them across pleasanter places like Spain.

“The weather is obviously a huge concern but Christmas adverts, middle class angst and the presence of Ed Balls’ face also make Britain a humanitarian crisis.

“We’ll be sending helicopters in about a week, keep watching during the X Factor ad breaks for details of where to rendezvous. Maximum two pieces of hand luggage each.

“In the meantime, just stay inside. Do not attempt to leave the house or even look out of the window, it’s far too psychologically damaging.”

Asked why the UN was not taking similar action in Scotland, the spokesman said: “The Scots thrive on misery. It’s like sunlight to them.”

British father-of-two Stephen Malley said: “I leave for work in freezing darkness and then I leave the office in freezing darkness.

“I’m sure this country is like a giant haunted house, actively trying to kill its inhabitants.”

The girl with the camera tattoo

A Dutch photographer has a tattoo on her forearm which makes it look like she’s taking a picture whenever she lifts her arm.

And Lotte van den Acker, 24, from Brunssum, didn’t have to look far for the camera body art – as her mother Helma van der Weide was the tattooist.

The optical illusion features an authentic image of a vintage 1970s Asahi Pentax 35mm SLR camera.

Her mother explained: “In the 80s, one of my girlfriends started a photography class and got herself this Pentax camera.

“At that time my daughter Lotte was born, on 11 November 1988, so my friend made very nice pictures of me and my lovely baby with this camera.

“I had the opportunity to buy my friends old Pentax and my daughter started using this camera for the first time, at the age of 10.

“After a while she got more and more interested in photography so she started an education at the Academy of Arts in Rotterdam.

“Of course, she doesn’t use this Pentax anymore, we got her a Canon 7D and she makes great pics and films.”

God, so atrocious in the Old Testament, so attractive in the New–the Jekyl and Hyde of sacred romance.
– Notebook, 1904… Mark Twain

The best minds will tell you that when a man has begotten a child he is morally bound to tenderly care for it, protect it from hurt, shield it from disease, clothe it, feed it, bear with its waywardness, lay no hand upon it save in kindness and for its own good, and never in any case inflict upon it a wanton cruelty. God’s treatment of his earthly children, every day and every night, is the exact opposite of all that, yet those best minds warmly justify these crimes, condone them, excuse them, and indignantly refuse to regard them as crimes at all, when he commits them. Your country and mine is an interesting one, but there is nothing there that is half so interesting as the human mind.

Should we let smokers and fat people die? Twitter debate surging

According to some folks out there, smokers and fat people are either: 1) a burdensome group sinking everyone with their medical costs, or 2) a dispensable group we should all just let die early. Welcome to the health care debate that’s taken Twitter by storm. The fight over applying lifestyle penalties is raging as lawmakers hash out details of the Affordable Care Act. With those two “high-risk” groups tallying about $243 billion in annual health care costs, some argue that “willfully unhealthy” people should be left alone to die early and save the system money, rather than being taxed or penalized. Others say smoking control and anti-obesity measures have proven effective and should be continued. Can’t we all just have a smoke and a pastry and get along?

Outrage as Taoiseach’s constituency office exempt from rates – while charities pay thousands

Scandalous situation. Charity shops belonging to altruistic organisations such as St Vincent De Paul and Oxfam, helping the disadvantaged are expected to pay thousands in rates while the cushy offices of the Taoiseach, currently screwing the disadvantaged, are totally exempt.

enda kenny

The independent is running another story highlighting the cruelty and inequity of our system. As an example of our two tier society, this is a pretty good one. Our political class get away with it again while voluntary organisations staving off the very worst consequences of FG austerity measures to pay foreign bank gambling debts, for the most disadvantaged in society are totally screwed by huge commercial rates bills. Meanwhile Europe’s best paid (but worst??) politicians get a free ride on their rates bill.

There truly is no justice in this country!

Quote:

CHARITY shops in the Taoiseach’s home town of Castlebar are facing demands for thousands of euro in commercial rates – but Enda Kenny‘s constituency office is exempt from the charge.

In a lucrative perk introduced some years ago as part of the national valuation regulations, TDs‘ offices are exempt from the rates.

But in Castlebar, Co Mayo, charities such as the St Vincent de Paul and Oxfam have rates charged on their premises at the same rate as other commercial premises. The same rules apply to charity shops all over Ireland run by organisations like Age Action Ireland, Aware, Barnardos and the Irish Cancer Society.

“It is outrageous that the Taoiseach’s lavish constituency HQ is a freebie for Enda Kenny as far as rates are concerned while Oxfam and other charities are being crucified,” complained local independent councillor Frank Durkan.”

Catholic church split over ordination of women paedophiles

The Catholic church is facing the most significant threat to its unity in generations as progressives call on the Vatican to advance the cause of gender equality and allow women paedophiles to be ordained as Catholic priests.

‘In the 21st century it seems incredible that only male priests are entrusted with the responsibility of abusing the children in their care,’ said pro-women campaigner, Sister Genevieve Loretta. ‘In every other walk of life women have proved themselves capable of performing roles as well as or better than men, so why shouldn’t women be given the chance to exploit a position of authority and defile vulnerable minors? I’m sure it’s what Jesus would have wanted.’

Comrade Obama Tells Comrade Cameron to Toe EU Line

WASHINGTON DCUSA – Comrade Cameron has been warned by his Soviet superior, Comrade Obama that he must accept the conditions of the EU with regards to the EU Sovietisation of the former United Kingdom.

“As I am bringing the collectivist soviet system to the former United States, I want you to do the same in the former United Kingdom and accept complete surrender to the EU soviet state. I get my orders from China, you get your orders from me and the EU. Once I have destroyed America from the inside, then there will be full integration of the one world government and economy,” Comrade Obama told Comrade Cameron yesterday during a conference call.

As a result of this communique there have been a number of articles from the controlled press decrying any movement away from the EU by the UK. The articles have all appeared in different publications from different sources all spewing out the same pro-EU propaganda that the people will naturally ingest without question.

“The EU is a key tool in total assimilation wherein it takes nation states, strips them of all sovereignty and destroys all freedom, individuality and democracy. It then spits out the country as a base shell moulded as an EU sector. The EU is a totalitarian state which will soon reveal itself as the Fourth Reich mixed up in an East German Stasi soup. The horrific nature of the EU is one of complete subjugation to a system that will bring tyranny to millions of people within its borders, as the controls will be drip fed slowly until there is no freedom left for its imprisoned populations,” an anti-EU supporter said on a BBC website bulletin board, before being deleted.

When the goose stepping EU soldiers are marching through British streets, maybe then some people may wake up to the EU threat. Until then, do carry on watching your Come Dancing and forget about what is really going on.

Remember how long it took people to listen to Churchill about the Nazi threat before World War II started, and you can see the exact same thing is happening now as the EU is gaining strength and assimilating more and more countries with its economic might, soon to be military might as well.

Fructose ‘may spur overeating’

N03665513570936539_1144857t

Scientists have used imaging tests to show for the first time that fructose, a sugar that saturates the American diet, can trigger brain changes that may lead to overeating.

After drinking a fructose beverage, the brain does not register the feeling of being full as it does when simple glucose is consumed, researchers found.

The small study does not prove that fructose or its relative, high-fructose corn syrup, can cause obesity, but experts say it adds evidence that they may play a role.

These sugars are often added to processed foods and beverages and consumption has risen dramatically since the 1970s along with obesity. A third of US children and teens and more than two-thirds of adults are obese or overweight.

All sugars are not equal – even though they contain the same amount of calories – because they are metabolised differently in the body. Table sugar is sucrose, which is half fructose, half glucose. High-fructose corn syrup is 55% fructose and 45% glucose. Some nutrition experts say this sweetener may pose special risks, but others and the industry reject that claim. And doctors say we eat too much sugar in all forms.

For the study, scientists used magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, scans to track blood flow in the brain in 20 young, normal-weight people before and after they had drinks containing glucose or fructose in two sessions several weeks apart.

Scans showed that drinking glucose “turns off or suppresses the activity of areas of the brain that are critical for reward and desire for food”, said one study leader, Yale University endocrinologist Dr Robert Sherwin. With fructose, “we don’t see those changes”, he said. “As a result, the desire to eat continues – it isn’t turned off.”

What is convincing, said Dr Jonathan Purnell, an endocrinologist at Oregon Health & Science University, is that the imaging results mirrored how hungry the people said they felt, as well as what earlier studies found in animals.

“It implies that fructose, at least with regards to promoting food intake and weight gain, is a bad actor compared to glucose,” he said. He wrote a commentary that appears with the federally funded study in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Researchers now are testing obese people to see if they react the same way to fructose and glucose as the normal-weight people in this study did.

Soviet Propaganda Photos – Athletic parade in Stalingrad in May 1945

In the archives of Russia there are a lot of unique photographs. There are high-quality color photographs of the USSR before and during the Second World War.

For example, here are the photos of athletic parade in Stalingrad in May 1945 (author – Mark Redkin). The Battle of Stalingrad is considered the largest land battle of the Second World War and the key battle on the Eastern Front.
