The troika speaks…
A short but interesting piece in the SBP at the weekend on a ‘draft report of the latest troika assessment’ which was later supported by pieces in the IT. How does the SBP or the IT get hold of these things, one asks. Don’t bother answering. It’s amazing how targeted leaks are used to soften up the political terrain by institutions and government. Now I guess I could raise the SBP’s complaints about pre-Budget leaks over the years, and then point up the contradiction… oh, I already have. Ah well. But the principle remains. Why is one regarded as a problem and the other not? And given the centrality of the EU commission et al to the formation of Budgetary policy it is even more difficult to sustain a defence of such matters.
But closer examination of the areas apparently being discussed is interesting. Along with ‘reform of legal services’…
