Atos Are Just Medical Mercenaries Leeching off the Vulnerable… News

Atos Are Just Medical Mercenaries Leeching off the Vulnerable…

John Mackintosh a so-called Manager for the WCA Process at Atos thinks his company is compassionate, this poor fellow has obviously been taking some medication which changes his perception of Compassion.

Any employee who stands up and defends this companies actions are idiots, how can this man defend the indefensible, how can he defend his company’s total lack of compassion, something which if he bothered to research he would know about, his companies appalling treatment of severely sick & disabled people is well documented for all to see.

Mr.Mackintosh said

“We run a large, highly complex, national operation, with around 1,400 doctors, nurses and physiotherapists assessing around 15,000 people each week.”

The so-called Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists that are employed by Atos only do the job because it’s easy money especially If you don’t have a caring bone in your body, no ethical Doctor/Nurse/Physio would ever take employment with Atos, it’s impossible to decide a person’s ability by a system that was devised by an Insurance company to deny disabled people their rightful entitlement to benefits, it’s a complete fraud of an assessment.

Those who work for Atos are not medical professionals but medical mercenaries who’ve sold themselves to the highest bidder, lining their pockets at the expense of those who cannot defend themselves.

If it wasn’t so serious I may laugh but it is very serious indeed, Atos are trying to defend themselves by saying that it is not them who decides who get’s benefits etc, we know that but in reality the DWP continues to rubber stamp their ludicrous and fraudulent so-called medical/functionability reports, how can any report about a person’s ability to perform certain tasks be made without looking at the individuals medical problems/diseases, being able to hold a carton of milk doesn’t mean a person can work in an office, being able to use ones legs doesn’t mean you are capable of getting to work, the whole assessment process is NOT about making sure the money goes to the right people, it’s all about the political elite trying to REDEFINE DISABILITY?

The profits that Atos are making have increased 36%, sure it’s not all from assessing disabled people but a percentage of it is, the mortuaries are starting to get backed up with the victims of the persecution carried out by Atos, the smoke is billowing from the crematoria more and more, the air is being filled with the toxic excuses of a fraudulent & disreputable company who cares little about its reputation so long as it makes money, money from the deaths of innocent vulnerable people, destroying families lives in its wake.

Atos has caused more damage to society than any oil leak into the sea, when a ship leaks its oil there’s a clean up, with the Atos WCA Assessment process there’s only one outcome, death or continual reassessment by a bunch of disgusting unethical individuals…

Extraordinary that more are being turned down for disability allowance

Fianna Fáil are warning that two out of every three disability allowance applications to the Department of Social Welfare are being refused.

The party have issued figures showing that the amount of applications refused has risen from 54% in 2010 to 61% for 2011.

The party’s spokesperson for social protection, Willie O’Dea, says the latest figures show that this number will jump to nearly two thirds of all applications being refused for 2012.

And he says he doesn’t understand why the refusals keep rising: “In so far as people being turned down are concerned, there’s no change in criteria.

“Well if there’s no change in the critieria since this government took office, then it is absolutely extraordinary that many more people are being turned down for disability allowance.

I know of a person who is currently a full time resident of a mental health clinic with severe depression and bipolar. Has had it for over 10 years and is under the care of a consultant psychiatrist who helped them fill out the forms for disability and was turned down.

I can understand and want the government to have a strict criteria but they seem to be just turning down everyone. If a consultant is supporting their claim then who is some pen pusher to turn them down?

Reform the criteria if need be to reduce applicants but stop punishing the legitimate cases! Typical Irish Government. Rather then do a bit of work and properly assess people they refuse everyone and make them appeal. In the case of people who are suicidal with severe depression and the process taking over a year for application this can be thing to push desperate people over the edge.

O’Dea is a spoofer, looking for a soundbyte by the way but the point he is making is true regardless of his self serving motives.

Advisers tell Burton to axe disability allowance for under-18’s

DISABILITY ALLOWANCE payments to under-18s will be ended in the budget if the Government adopts a proposal from the expert group that recommended reducing the rate of child benefit.

The Coalition was forced into a U-turn after last December’s budget when its plan to stop the practice of paying disability allowance directly to 16- and 17-year-olds met strong opposition from the parents of severely disabled children and Opposition parties.

The contentious proposal to increase the minimum qualifying age for the allowance from 16 to 18, while providing a compensatory payment for the teenager’s parent or guardian, is back on the agenda as Budget 2013 approaches.

Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton has said the EUEuropean Central BankInternational Monetary Fund troika has raised concerns about social welfare payments going straight to under-18s and said she was worried about young people losing the incentive to stay in education.

Ms Burton charged the expert advisory group on tax and social welfare with resolving such anomalies in the social welfare code. The group submitted its report on family income supports, including child benefit, to Ms Burton earlier this year. The Minister will receive the group’s work on State payments to the disabled shortly. The group will propose withholding disability allowance from 16 year olds who are new claimants while extending the domiciliary care allowance to the children’s carers. Currently, a domiciliary care allowance is paid to the parents of a child with a disability until the child is 16, after which the teenager goes on disability allowance in his or her own right.

The weekly maximum rate of disability allowance is €188. The domiciliary care allowance rate is €309.50 per month, although those in receipt of the payment may also qualify for carer’s benefit or carer’s allowance. A respite care grant of €1,700 a year can also be claimed and child benefit is not affected.

James Reilly left red faced as he rolls backs on disabled cuts – National News – Independent.ie

UNDER-fire Health Minister James Reilly has rowed back on controversial plans to cut personal assistant services to the disabled.

He has instructed the Health Service Executive(HSE) to make adjustments elsewhere to work towards shaving the total disability budget.

“The minister has told the HSE to distribute adjustments across the sector with a focus on cutting administration, training and travel costs, and better cash management by agencies involved,” said a spokesman for the Department of Health.

“The minister has requested that the HSE work with agencies to minimise the impact on services within the disability sector.”

Those in receipt of personal assistant care will continue to receive the service to suit their needs.
